This year's game was another BIG success. The North beat the South, 21-19 for North's third straight victory. Read the San Jose Mercury News article about the game. Also, check out the San Jose Mercury News Slide Show (about half way down).

A small sample of the Official Photos of the game by our game photographer are available. Jerry Costanzo of The Open Shutter on his site has available over 500 photos of the game. Go to www.TheOpenShutter.com and click on All Star photos, enter your email and enter football as the password.

The Almaden Valley Rotary Club was proud to present the Annual Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Football Game, the Silicon Valley Youth Classic. This year was our 34th year of honoring graduating senior high school football players. The game was played at 7:30 pm Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 at Spartan Stadium.

Congratulations to the Head Football COACHES, Mark Krail of Pioneer High School for the South; and Ray Wright of Lynbrook High School for the North. The coaches have completed their selection of players and the player information is now available for the South Roster and the North Roster respectively. And the rosters have a link to each player's biographical information. Player's, check out your web page.

Check out the MEDIA page as the North and South All Star players toured the 49ers training facility.

Check out the Rosters of past years. The more recent rosters have a link to each player's biographical information.

The 2008 BANQUET scheduled for Monday, May 19th occurred at the 300 San Jose. We had a GOOD crowd! The Master of Ceremonies was Bob Braunstein, Executive Producer Host for CAL-HI Sports Bay Area. The keynote speaker was Guy McIntyre, Player's Representative for the San Francisco 49ers. He was introduced by John Ralston, Past Head Football Coach of Utah State, Stanford University, Denver Broncos and San Jose State University. The photos taken by the game photographer, Jerry Costanzo, at the banquet are used for the game program and on each of the the player's webpage. There also are candid pictures taken which are on the banquet page.

We have a very preliminary list of ALUMNI. Click HERE to view this list. Two tickets are available to every one of the past participants of the All Star games but you must get in touch with us AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to receive the tickets. Free tickets will not be available at the game.

We had a great turnout of the Oakland Raiderettes and high school cheerleaders this past year. We are continually looking for commitments from high school cheerleading groups in the game. Check out the cheerleader information.

Thanks to all the SPONSORS of the past. We will always be looking for a few large sponsors in the future. We have been blessed with many smaller sponsors that have made this game possible and allowed us to donate to many charities over the past years.

One of the primary charities is ALS. Charlie Wedemeyer has been an inspirational representative and has been a part of the Santa Clara County All-Star Football since ..... Read all about his story.
