Mercury News Comments:
2009
A two-time All-Mercury News selection, the Harvard-bound Berg was Hirschman's favorite target. With excellent speed to complement his sure hands, Berg caught 65 passes for 1,414 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also rushed for 148 yards in 20 carries and two touchdowns and returned two punts and interception for scores. Berg's biggest game came against Saratoga when he caught seven passes for 247 yards and scored four touchdowns.

2008
The De Anza Division junior year of the year's consistent play on both sides of the ball was one of the keys for the Wildcats in their run to the Medium School Division title. Berg was a quality cover cornerback who led the team with three interceptions and also recorded 36 tackles. Offensively, he caught 48 passes for 1,103 yards and nine touchdowns. His best game came in a loss to Milpitas when he caught nine passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns.
